In 2024, Friedrich Schiller's tale of the legendary Swiss freedom fighter William Tell will be performed in Altdorf, the capital of Uri. In the production by director Annette Windlin, which will take place from 24 August to 19 October 2024, the timeless questions surrounding themes such as defence and revenge or right and wrong will be addressed and playfully portrayed on stage by over 70 actors. Founded in 1899, the Tell Play Society celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2024. The Tell Play Society is also the winner of the 2023 Swiss Prize for the Performing Arts.
