The destination of Engelberg-Titlis has been awarded the Swisstainable Destination Label in the Swisstainable sustainability programme of the Swiss Tourism Federation. This makes it the fourth destination in Switzerland and the first in Central Switzerland to receive the label.
The prerequisite for the classification was Engelberg's good penetration of tourism providers that had already achieved a Swisstainable classification at business level. Engelberg was also able to demonstrate that the energy commission set up by the municipality has been systematically and successfully promoting the topic of sustainability for many years.
