In 1926, Lina Schärer-Linder founded the Schärer-Linder speciality corset shop in the so-called Bärenhof in Lucerne. She was considered a pioneer in two senses. At that time, it was a remarkable achievement for a woman to found a company, and it was also the first corset speciality shop in central Switzerland. The company grew steadily over the years. At times, up to 10 seamstresses were employed to produce corsets under the Schärer-Linder brand.

Today, Schärer-Linder is a traditional Lucerne company, now run by the fourth generation. Today's range consists of high-quality lingerie and swimwear. Daywear, nightwear and homewear complete the range. The company's own sewing workshop still exists today, with its remarkable sewing machines, which are now mainly used for customisation. The signs of the times are still visible in the shop at Zentralstrasse 12. Schärer-Linder's "History Wall" takes visitors from the early days of the company to the present day.
